Promoting education is one of the objectives of our church. Education is a tool that can help to defeat poverty in our communities, To that end, we took a group of young people to the Hoopla STEM Challenge on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton, Ohio.
The Hoopla STEM Challenge affords a great opportunity to students in the Dayton region to participate in a fun event, which combines the power of STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math) with the excitement of March Madness. Students participated in an exciting “hot-shot” contest while exploring hands-on STEM exhibits/demonstrations from leading regional and national partners. Thank you to all the sponsors for providing such a great event!
After the event, youth who have been taking sermon notes, were treated to dinner at the Sake Hibachi Grill! One parent said, “My kids had SO much fun!!!!”
